Nikki Cordell

Nikki is an experienced specialist occupational physician, researcher and educator, passionate about developing further understanding of employee health, wellbeing and performance and its links to productivity. As CEO of Cordell Health, Nikki leads a social enterprise delivering a wide range of occupational health, wellbeing and training services.

Nikki is driven by the desire to make a positive difference, to change the focus from disability to ability in the workplace, solving problems for the long-term benefit of both employers and employees. Throughout her career I have always been passionate about raising standards in the provision of workplace health, focusing on prevention and early intervention.

Nikki  is an accredited specialist in Occupational Medicine, and a Fellow of the Faculty of Occupational Medicine (FFOM), with over 15 years first-hand experience in design and delivery of occupational health services – starting within her earlier military career and subsequently in the private and public sectors.

Having completed an MSc in Medical Education from the University of Cardiff, Nikki is very involved in the development of the speciality. Quality services require delivery by highly trained staff and this is achieved through excellence in education and continuous professional development.

Development of research programmes and investment in projects are key in helping us understand better the relationship between health and work. Nikki is currently undertaking a PhD at Oxford Brookes University focused on the factors influencing the ability to work for employees with a long-term health problem or disability.

Nikki feels privileged to be working in such a crucial profession as workplace health and wellbeing, particularly in these challenging times. Occupational health is a hugely rewarding career and Nikki wants her work to inspire interest from colleagues in the industry whether physicians, nursing or support staff.
