Dr Louise Hancock MBChB MRCP(UK) MFOM MSc (Occ Med) PGDip Oncology DOccMed
Dr Louise Hancock works as a Consultant Occupational Health Physician at Medigold Health. She is the Lead Medical Review Officer at Hampton Knight and was appointed as the Chief Medical Officer for two large public listed companies in 2020. Her daily practice involves Pensions, Aviation work, and Case Management. She is Honorary Secretary for the Occupational Medicine section of the Royal Society of Medicine (RSM) and has been on the RSM Council since 2020, playing a key role in organising educational events.
Dr Hancock is also a Specialty Doctor in the field of Medical Oncology at the Royal Sussex County Hospital, treating patients with gastrointestinal malignancies including colorectal, pancreatic, oesophageal and neuroendocrine tumours. She previously trained up to ST5 level in the specialty at The Royal Marsden and Imperial College.
She undertook a dissertation in the field of work and cancer as part of her MSc at the University of Manchester. Her project is titled ‘Mixed methods study of infection risk in patients with solid tumours in the workplace’.
She has undertaken a number of presentations on the subject of the implications of chemotherapy, targeted treatments and immunosuppression on work, including at the RSM, Society of Occupational Medicine and the Maritime and Coastguard Agency.
