Brooke Layard
Dr Brooke Layard is a Consultant Hepatologist in the Belfast Trust. She graduated from Glasgow University in 2010 (MBChB Hons), returning to Northern Ireland for postgraduate training. She completed an Advanced Hepatology and Transplant fellowship in St. Vincent’s University Hospital, Dublin before being appointed to her current post in the Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast in 2022. Specialist interests include liver transplantation, autoimmune liver disease, and liver disease in pregnancy. Having a particular passion for teaching, she obtained a Diploma in Clinical Education (QUB) and partakes in both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching. She is an author for a Gastroenterology & Hepatology Specialty Exam revision question bank. She is also co-chair for the treatment workstream of the Northern Ireland Hepatitis C Elimination Plan.
