Jon Spiro
He qualified 1979 and worked in the NHS in hospital medicine for 8 years before training in Occupational Medicine with the nuclear industry. He has since worked for various organisations and served clients in the NHS, local and central government, higher education, emergency services, scientific research and technology, manufacturing and various others. He has been involved in the training of specialists in Occupational Medicine from 1997 and on the Oxford (now Thames Valley) Occupational Medicine specialist training committee from 1998, which he has chaired for a number of years. He regularly participates in NSOH recruitment and ARCP panels. He Is the Regional Advisor for Occupational Medicine for the Oxford region on behalf of Faculty of Occupational Medicine (FOM) and Training Programme Director for Occupational Medicine for the Thames Valley and Wessex Local Education and Training Boards. He has been the Faculty Lead for the Portfolio Pathway and for CESR applications since 2011 and is the Faculty’s Deputy Director of training. He is a member of Faculty Council, a Fellow of the Faculty and a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of London. He Is otherwise an Independent Specialist in Occupational Medicine, based in Oxfordshire.
