Joanna Vallom-Smith is an expert Occupational Therapist (OT) specialising in Occupational Health (OH). As a dynamic leader in her field, Joanna has built a thriving national network of OTs working within or exploring OH roles. In recognition of her pioneering leadership and dedication to the profession, she was awarded a Merit Award by the Royal College of Occupational Therapists (RCOT).
Currently, Joanna shapes national practice as a Professional Advisor for Work and Health at RCOT, while also delivering strategic, evidence-based guidance in a consultancy capacity to external businesses. Her commitment to multidisciplinary collaboration isreflected in her wider sector leadership; she Chairs the Allied Health Professionals (AHP) Special Interest Group for the Society of Occupational Medicine (SOM) and sits on the Faculty of Occupational Medicine (FOM) Ethics Committee.
As a passionate advocate for workforce health, Joanna focuses on the distinct value of occupational therapy in promoting occupational justice, and enabling people to thrive in meaningful, inclusive employment across the UK.
